Patterns and the Bead Roll~Fender Project

The benefit of offering one on one private metal shaping classes here at KMW is not only uninterrupted instruction, unlimited question and answer time, the class can take a completely different turn altogether. The student is in control of where the training will go based on their skills, the tools they have in their shop and the specific areas that they want to focus on. One metal shaping activity can open up all kinds of ways to tackle a project and our job is to be a student of the student, to grasp their learning style and train from that platform. Our goal is to exceed the students’ expectations of their private metal shaping class.

Here is how our morning session played out using Mitch’s fender project he brought in. We focused on pattern making and using the bead roll to tip the flange.
